Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

Experience Requirements:

Demonstrated proficiency and experience with various diagnostic categories, including but not limited to neurological disorders such as CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, ventilator-dependent and tracheostomy patients, dysphagia, dementia, cognitive disorders, and voice disorders. Experience with pediatric populations is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Successful completion of the National Examination endorsed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in SLP (CCC-SLP) or in the process of completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) with eligibility for Indiana State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Recent graduates who have applied for the registration examination may be considered for provisional appointment.
  • Proof of valid license from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA) and eligibility for registration with IPLA.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Job Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy Services or designated management, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for delivering age-appropriate services to child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned. Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting assessments and providing direct treatment to individuals and groups
  • Supervising treatment provided by student SLPs
  • Offering patient and family education
  • Participating in family and team conferences
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives
  • Documenting services in accordance with hospital and departmental standards
  • Supervising and guiding Rehabilitation Technicians as needed
