Position Overview:

Role Purpose

The Interventional Radiology Specialist is tasked with executing procedures by effectively positioning patients, employing sterile techniques at catheter insertion sites, and utilizing mobilization and sliding devices, among other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicates procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and foster cooperation. Determines and selects appropriate technical parameters on radiographic, C.T., and fluoroscopic apparatus such as voltage, current, exposure duration, and focal distance based on factors including patient size, health status, and suspected conditions.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a commitment to delivering patient-centered care through rigorous scientific inquiry, empathy for individuals, advocacy and education for patients and their families, and collaboration with all stakeholders involved in patient care.
  • This pivotal role requires the use of critical thinking to navigate complex procedural challenges and the ability to manage emergency situations during high-risk procedures.
Essential Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology along with three years of experience in the field.
  • Licensure: Valid Massachusetts license.
  • Certification: A.R.R.T. registration is mandatory; C.V.I.R. registration is preferred and must be obtained within three years of employment. ACLS certification is also preferred.
