DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital stands as the largest facility within the DMC network, delivering a wide array of medical services including cardiac care, oncology, geriatric medicine, emergency care, obstetrics/gynecology, and aesthetic procedures. The hospital's joint replacement initiative showcases groundbreaking minimally invasive techniques for knee and hip surgeries, drawing patients from across the nation. With over 21 outpatient clinics and ambulatory surgical centers in Wayne and Oakland Counties, Sinai-Grace is recognized as one of the few hospitals nationwide to receive a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant aimed at establishing exemplary cardiac care standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is an integral member of the Patient Care Services Team, tasked with ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care by the nursing staff. The RN oversees and executes patient care responsibilities for a designated group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support personnel. The role of the RN encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, education, and supervision.

Key Responsibilities of the DMC RN:

• Cultivates and sustains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

• Delegates, assesses, delivers, and evaluates patient care.

• Provides and assigns patient care tasks to team members.

• Monitors patient recovery and prepares patients for discharge.

• Reports directly to senior management and engages in shared decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Completion of an accredited nursing program is required.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
3. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
4. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
