Job Summary:
We are seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our team at Baptist Health. The successful candidate will provide recreational therapeutic activities to patients admitted to the inpatient behavioral health unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recreational therapy programs to improve physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral health in patients with mental health, substance use disorders, and dual diagnoses.
- Collaborate with treatment teams to set goals and improve activity of daily living for patients.
- Lead group and individual recreational therapy sessions, utilizing creative techniques, practices, and outlets to engage patients.
- Participate in treatment team staffing and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
- One year of experience in recreation therapy, preferably in a behavioral health or acute healthcare setting.
- Certification as a Recreation Therapist in the state of Kentucky within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
- Experience working in a behavioral health or acute healthcare setting.
