We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at OR Lane Cty Juvi Det. As a member of our healthcare team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of incarcerated youth and their families.
About the Role
The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric services to adolescent patients, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental health services and documentation of psychiatric services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric services to inmate patients, including evaluations, treatment, and monitoring of psychotropic medications in compliance with professional and company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental health services and documentation of psychiatric services.
- Provide supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurse (if applicable) and consultation/training services to mental health and medical staff.
- Participate in involuntary medication of high-risk inmates and provide documentation of psychiatric services contacts as requested.
- Exercise independent medical judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients while adhering to approved medication formulary and notifying appropriate staff of clinical or administrative concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Doctorate in psychiatry.
- Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.
- Physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.
- CPR Certified.
