Job Summary

Burrtec is a leading waste management company seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join its IT department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing efficient business systems to support Burrtec's core operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with process owners and end-users to define business requirements and identify process improvements.
  • Analyze existing systems and develop strategies for enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, and alternatives to address system issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create system design proposals and ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house information systems.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Provide orientation and training to end-users for all modified and new systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of business analysis experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the recycling and waste industry is preferred.
Competencies
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including T-SQL and the creation of Stored Procedures.
  • Proven experience in operating and analyzing database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to provide professional support to internal customers.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods, manual dexterity, and vision sufficient to operate a personal computer for long periods without experiencing abnormal hand, wrist, or eye strain. It also requires hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and via video conferencing.

The work area is primarily in an office setting and may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
