Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Office Assistant to join our team at the Sheriff's Office. As a key member of our detention division, you will provide supervisory support to our work group and use your independent judgment to make decisions that drive our success.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervisory support to the work group and use independent judgment to make decisions.
  • Prepare and approve payroll for the department.
  • Participate in planning programs, policies, or objectives for the work group and department.
  • Greets and directs visitors to the proper location within the department.
  • Responds to telephone inquiries and/or routes to the appropriate person.
  • Generates correspondence, memos, letters, and reports for the department.
  • Processes reports for federal, state, and local agencies; prepares required reports and distributes to the appropriate person or agencies.
  • Maintains employee files as required.
  • Notarizes documents for the department or others as needed.
  • Responds to verbal and written requests for information and/or documents from internal and external clients.
  • Trains employees, ensuring they have knowledge to perform job duties. Assigns tasks/duties and reviews work of employees.
  • Assists employees with job duties and projects as needed.
  • Completes tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED; five (5) years job-related experience.
  • Good computer/keyboarding typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, employees, and department leadership.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; multi-tasking and ability to meet strict deadlines. Working knowledge of databases inclusive of FBCSO department reporting systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

Salary Range: $19.32 - $24.15 hourly, based on qualifications.
