Job Title: Bridge Superintendent

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Superintendent to join their team in Springfield, IL.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned professional to oversee the construction of bridges and other heavy civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with union contractors and government agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend pre-job meetings and review project scopes with the Project Manager and Area Manager
  • Set up job sites, review cost codes, and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Communicate with IDOT, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners to ensure smooth project execution
  • Supervise on-site employees, manage local union relationships, and ensure EEO requirements are met
  • Complete daily timesheets, safe cards, and other required paperwork
  • Generate a two-week look-ahead schedule and verify utility locates before excavation
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensure maximum equipment utilization, and oversee compliance with OSHA standards
Qualifications:
  • Minimum GED or High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Bridge Superintendent or related field
