Job Title: Automotive Accounting Clerk

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Accounting Clerk to join our team at Brinson Auto Group. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for performing various accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and work closely with the office manager/accounting manager/controller daily.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank deposits.
  • Print all accounts payable and/or receivable reports and maintain all files.
  • Post internals and other accounting entries as directed by office manager.
  • Calculate Dealer Trades.
  • Input/stock in new vehicles into the computer system as directed by the office manager.
  • Reconcile statements and the ledger making sure that payments are consistent with dealership schedules.
  • Reconcile cash and other schedules as assigned.
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash system.
  • Provide title clerk with information on all purchased vehicles for title list.
  • Reconcile bank balances on a daily basis.
  • Assist in monthly closings.
  • Assist with accounts receivable, payable and special projects, as necessary.
  • Reconcile and deposit service and parts receipts, including charge cards, on a daily basis.
  • Enter finalized cash receipts and update accounts receivable ledger by customer.
  • File all cash receipt records, check stubs, and bank receipts.
  • Prepare accounting statements monthly as directed.
  • Report sold units through the factory reporting system. Maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Post fuel credits on a daily basis and reconcile the fuel schedule.
  • Fill in for other administrative positions as needed and directed by management and assist with related special projects as required.
  • Cross-train others for this position as directed by management.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Summarize sales and expense analysis to detect potential problem areas and opportunities.
  • Reinforce company policies and adhere to all company standards.
  • Maintain and inspect for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place.
  • Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.
  • Payroll & Commissions.
  • Warranty and aftermarket reconciliation.
  • Accounts Payable.
  • Input Inventory and Close customer deals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have experience within an automotive dealership office (automotive billing, registering vehicles, automotive titles, etc.).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Understanding of basic document editing in WORD, EXCEL, ADOBE, and HTML.
  • Current, valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
