About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Architect to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our platform and driving innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive a technical roadmap to solve scaling challenges in a rapidly growing team.
  • Bring a principled approach to defining architecture across Web, Mobile, and Backend.
  • Uplift the technical skills of the entire Engineering team, modeling excellence in self-directed learning, evaluation of new technologies, and prioritization of issues.
  • Cultivate and maintain high levels of collaboration and communication across Resy and American Express.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer, preferably in a mix of fast-paced startup environments and large corporate environments.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Software Engineering Staff Engineer / Architect.
  • Strong expertise with Python, Web frameworks, SQL, MySQL, Postgres, APIs, GraphQL, Single Page Applications, Server-side rendering, MV*, and Reactive FE architectures.
  • Familiarity with Mobile Frameworks, Monitoring system performance, and Leading and growing teams of fellow engineers through complex deliveries.

We offer a competitive salary range of $220,000.00 to $320,000.00 annually, plus bonus, equity (if applicable), and benefits.
