We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at Sutter Health. As an integral part of our healthcare organization, this role will play a critical role in assessing the safety of patients participating in therapeutic exercise, monitoring equipment use, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to design exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs.

Job Summary:

This is a per diem/casual position that requires working independently with cardiac rehab class participants, ensuring their responses to exercise are appropriate and prepared to take medical intervention if needed. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively interact with healthcare professionals through the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts cardiac diagnostic testing, including EKG and Cardiac Stress Testing, providing accurate results for informed decision-making.
  • Develops personalized exercise prescriptions based on test data, patient status, and current medication regimen, adapting as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Administers patient testing pre and post-rehabilitation, evaluating strength, body composition, flexibility, balance, and endurance to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Recognizes contraindications to exercise and abnormal patient responses, adjusting programs accordingly under the guidance of a RN or leader.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology or related field; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification and ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience, with strong clinical and communication skills.

Estimated Salary:$64,000 - $84,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include non-exempt status, per diem/casual schedule, and no union affiliation.
