We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Repairman 2 to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a key member of our bridge maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of skilled trades duties, including constructing concrete forms, pouring and finishing concrete, and stone-masonry tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine manual labor tasks in the yard, including mowing, building, and grounds maintenance, under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Assist the County Bridge Crew with various general labor duties, such as form building, pouring concrete, stone masonry, and tying rebar, as and when required.
- Identify equipment issues using diagnostic tools, follow testing procedures, and assist in more complex troubleshooting, as well as conduct minor repairs and maintenance on motorized hand equipment.
- Perform other duties, including shoveling snow, sweeping and cleaning walkways, maintaining the immediate outdoor premises and building entrances, making minor repairs to building fixtures, doors, windows, and performing general carpentry tasks.
- Operate small hand tools, riding mowers, weed eaters, edgers, and hedge trimmers, as well as maintain planting beds, trees, and shrubs, clear snow and ice from sidewalks and driveways, rake leaves, and clean up minor storm damage.
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
