Job Title: Part-time Lecturer, Computer Engineering

We are seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach an upper-division course in microcontrollers or embedded systems at the University of the Pacific. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the course, including course planning, assignments, grading, and submission of grades.
  • Conduct three weekly classroom sessions in-person on the Stockton campus.
  • Conduct one weekly lab session in-person on the Stockton campus.
  • Hold regular office hours to support students.
Requirements:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded systems, or related devices, and their applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching at an accredited university or college.
  • Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Compensation:

Hiring Range: $3,000 per unit. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations.
