Job Summary:
The Class A CDL Yard Jockey at US Foods, Inc. is responsible for safely moving trailers between buildings, loading and unloading cargo, and ensuring equipment readiness for deliveries.
This role involves communicating with dispatchers, staging trailers, and working closely with mechanics while operating in various weather conditions.
A valid CDL Class A is required, along with physical capability to manage heavy products and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
- Loading and unloading cargo
- Ensure equipment readiness for deliveries
- Communicate with dispatchers and work closely with mechanics
- Manage heavy products and ensure safety and teamwork
Requirements:
- Valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language
