The IT Project Manager will be instrumental in the effective execution and oversight of our ERP system and various IT initiatives for the Town of Palm Beach. This role entails managing all facets of project administration, encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and concluding projects. Additionally, the IT Project Manager will oversee the consulting teams engaged in the ERP implementation, ensuring accountability among staff for the preparation and execution of the ERP.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the comprehensive implementation of the ERP, ensuring timely completion within defined scope and budget.
  • Create and sustain detailed project plans that outline objectives, timelines, deliverables, and necessary resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, HR, Operations, and other municipal departments, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including vendors, consultants, internal team members, and executive council members.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues proactively, developing mitigation and contingency strategies as necessary.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of project deliverables, adhering to established methodologies and best practices.
  • Facilitate post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions to enhance project management processes.
  • Manage additional IT projects as assigned, ensuring alignment with municipal objectives.
  • Act as a mentor, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise the consulting team involved in the ERP implementation, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Hold staff accountable for their responsibilities, monitoring progress and providing guidance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (PMP certification preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present information and influence decision-making.
  • Proficient in project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and perform well under pressure.
