Job Overview:
The Career Services Coordinator will play a key role in supporting students, instructors, employers, and college management in achieving our mission. This full-time position requires a highly motivated and organized individual who can provide exceptional career guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Career Preparation: Prepare students for job seeking activities, including resume preparation, job hunting, and referrals; interview techniques; and enforcement of inter-office protocol and state job regulations.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate files and records on student job placement activity.
- Reporting and Analysis: Manage college data management systems to prepare reports on placement percentages of graduates and those hired.
- Employment Verification: Obtain and keep records of employment verification forms for all hired graduates.
- Student Support: Work with current and past cohorts for job placement.
- Mentorship: Conduct mock interviews for students.
- Professional Development: Develop and deliver classroom presentations on industry trends, labor market information, employment preparation, and other related topics as requested by faculty.
- New Business Opportunities: Identify new clinical sites, medical facilities, technical facilities, and employers for clinical rotations and job placement.
- Relationship Building: Pitch employers to hire our graduates, maintaining and updating a potential employer database.
- Existing Relationships: Maintain fruitful relationships with existing employers and clinical sites management.
- Career Services: Develop Career Services relationships with local employers through in-person visits and correspondence, arranging for interviews and placements of student graduates.
- Event Planning: Coordinate career job fair events, conduct employer site visits to campus, promote program visits to students and faculty, greet employers, assist with setup as needed, and debrief with employers to assess satisfaction and discuss improvements.
- Extnernship Coordination: Provide timely information to Student Services, Financial Aid, and Fiscal departments after assuring instructor has released the student for clinical rotations.
- Orientation and Release: Provide externship orientations and obtain proper student release documentation prior to externship start dates.
- Site Coordination: Coordinate with externship sites to determine start dates, schedules, and site regulations.
- Tracking and Reporting: Track and record student clinical rotations accumulated hours on a weekly basis.
- Student Support: Maintain close contact with students while at their clinical sites and site administration as well.
- Site Visits: Visit clinical sites regularly to ensure quality of training and maintain relationship with sites.
- Follow-up Meetings: Schedule students' follow-up meetings every two months for long-term externships.
- Incident Reporting: Report any incidents of non-compliance of school rules, policies, and regulations to school directors.
- Professional Development: Attend workshops or seminars to learn new techniques or meet standard guidelines and acquire new clients for enrollments.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Licensing Assistance: Assist students with their career licenses and certifications processes.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain updated knowledge of career licenses and certifications regulations and procedures.
- Excellent Communication: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Education: Associate degree preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in job placement and business development for vocational schools is an advantage.
- Computer Skills: Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Transportation: Must have own reliable transportation and driver's license.
- Job Type: Full-time position.
- Salary Range: $21 - $23 per hour.
- Benefits: dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, vision insurance, AFLAC.
- Shift Hours: 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday.
- Weekend Requirements: Some weekends may be required with advanced notice.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to complete site visits.
