Job Title: Assistant Professor of Theatre

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Theatre to join our faculty at Sul Ross State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in theatre, including acting, directing, and playwriting, as well as contributing to the development of our theatre program.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach a range of courses in theatre, including acting, directing, and playwriting
  • Contribute to the development of our theatre program, including curriculum design and implementation
  • Advise students and provide mentorship
  • Participate in departmental and university service
Requirements:
  • MFA in Acting or Directing
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
  • Producing or arts management experience
  • Availability to teach and/or direct productions during our summer outdoor season
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with first-generation students
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • Strong interest in developing active partnerships with local and regional artists and performing arts organizations
