Job Description:

This is a 36-hour per week night shift position, working 7am-7:30pm, including weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain a comprehensive admission history and perform physical assessments as per unit policy.
  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal assessment findings, analyze and prioritize abnormal findings, and initiate appropriate responses.
  • Anticipate and address potential problems or health concerns in the hospital and/or home setting.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patients' psychosocial, physiological, and educational needs, and integrate analysis of diagnostic information into patient care.
  • Formulate individualized nursing diagnoses and develop plans of care based on standards of care and practice, hospital/unit policies, and patient needs.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications promptly, and guide and supervise ancillary staff while maintaining accountability for patient care.
  • Teach patients and their families information necessary to attain optimal self-care, and evaluate patient responses to care and comprehension of education.
  • Document all aspects of the nursing process in a legible, concise, and timely manner, and involve patients and their families in all aspects of care.
Requirements:
  • Current active state license.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • BLS/BCLS certification.
  • Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in med-surg adult and ortho settings.
  • Bilingual skills.
