Job Summary

As an Emergency Department Nurse with Steward Health Care, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be responsible for assessing, intervening, and stabilizing patients with a variety of medical conditions, utilizing your knowledge and skills to make decisive actions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care based on established standards of care, protocols, and policies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and prepare patients for discharge, incorporating support systems and resources as necessary.
  • Prioritize patient care, seeking assistance as needed and recognizing opportunities to reduce medical errors.
  • Document patient data, therapeutic interventions, and responses in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Identify and report potential risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce medical errors.
  • Administer medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with physician orders and protocols.
  • Assess and manage patient pain levels, utilizing pain scales and documenting responses to medication.
  • Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others, demonstrating clinical competence in the specialty area of nursing practice.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a BSN preferred.
  • Current nursing license in Massachusetts, with BCLS and ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • TNCC and ENPC certification required within 1 year of hire.
