Position Summary:
The Technician for Security System Installations is vital in protecting properties and ensuring the safety of residents by installing, maintaining, and servicing security alarm systems. This role demands technical proficiency, analytical skills, and exceptional customer service to provide top-notch security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install security alarm systems, including wiring, sensors, control panels, and other essential components, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry regulations.
- Ensure optimal placement and configuration of security devices to maximize effectiveness and reduce false alarms.
- Conduct tests on installed systems to confirm functionality and performance standards.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on security systems to guarantee proper operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with alarm systems, including wiring faults, sensor failures, and communication problems.
- Repair or replace defective components as necessary to restore system performance.
- Evaluate client requirements and suggest enhancements or expansions to existing security systems to improve protection capabilities.
- Install additional sensors, cameras, or other devices as per client specifications.
- Integrate new components with existing security systems to ensure cohesive operation.
- Maintain detailed records of all installations, maintenance tasks, and repairs conducted.
- Generate service reports outlining completed work, parts utilized, and any recommendations for further actions.
- Collaborate with management to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of PC and networking systems.
- Relevant experience or equivalent training is preferred.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders, access attics or crawl spaces, kneel, and crawl.
- Capable of performing physical tasks associated with the role.
- Must be able to lift approximately 15 pounds.
Employment Type:
- Full-time, non-exempt position.
- Standard workweek is Monday to Friday.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
- On-call duties on a rotational basis.
