Job Title: Assistant Director of Academic Advising

Edmonds College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. We seek a dedicated and mission-driven individual to join our team as an Assistant Director of Academic Advising.

The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of academic advising programs and services that promote student success and retention. This role will work closely with Enrollment and Student Services, as well as other departments, to ensure seamless student experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advising to administer college-wide Academic Advising programs and services.
  • Develop and implement culturally responsive advising programs and services using ctcLink systems and tools.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Student Services, Instruction, and Workforce Development departments.
  • Co-facilitate advising staff meetings and cross-training opportunities.
  • Hire, train, and supervise Advising Resource Center front desk staff.
  • Oversee and manage the Advising Center front desk area.
  • Provide student advising in the Advising Resource Center as needed.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. A strong understanding of academic advising principles and practices is essential, as well as experience working in higher education.
