Job Title: Middle School Boys Basketball Coach

At Khan Lab School, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to lead and grow our basketball program. As a key member of our Athletics Department, you will be responsible for organizing and running effective practices, attending games and practices, and communicating with student-athletes, parents, and school administration.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for middle school boys, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Lead practices and games, providing positive coaching techniques and constructive feedback to student-athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, student-athletes, and school administration to ensure a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Collaborate with the Athletics Department to schedule practices and games, arrange transportation, and manage equipment and uniforms.
  • Model inclusion and respect for all students, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, sports management, or a related field).
  • Previous coaching experience in a middle school or high school environment, preferably in basketball.
  • Familiarity with basketball rules and regulations, as well as an appreciation for the sport.
  • Prior experience playing basketball and an understanding of how to teach others to improve their technique.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a passion for working with young athletes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
