The Elliot Lewis Center for Multiple Sclerosis Care is seeking a skilled per-diem infusion nurse to join our team. Our outpatient infusion center provides high-quality care to patients with multiple sclerosis, and we are committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform patient assessments, evaluations, and reviews of medications
- Place peripheral intravenous access and draw blood for lab tests as needed
- Mix and administer IV medications, monitoring patients throughout infusions
- Monitor vital signs, assess intravenous sites, adjust infusion rates, and perform assessments for possible reactions
- Provide education and emotional support to patients throughout treatment
- Document electronically and work closely with the infusion coordinator to ensure patients are authorized by insurance and scheduled for next treatment
- Assist in managing inventory and work effectively with the team of doctors, nurses, and administrative staff
- BSN degree
- Strong IV skills and infusion experience required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
