About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. As an Orthopedic Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our comprehensive orthopedic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with our experienced staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assess patient health status, including state of wellness and compliance with care plans, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Utilize advanced practice technology, including electronic health records, dictation, and outcomes tools, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Provide medical care as delegated by our physicians, including physical examinations and preventive health measures.
  • Educate patients and families on their conditions and provide continuity of care.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to patient care, including submitting health care plans and goals for periodic review and evaluation.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications, physical therapy, or other forms of treatment as necessary.
  • Refer patients to our physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
Requirements
  • BA/BS, MS preferred, graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
  • Current Illinois state RN license or willingness to apply.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Minimum one-year experience in a clinical setting, preferred.
  • Orthopedics experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
