Behavioral Health Technician Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Bradford Health Services. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in luggage and body searches to ensure patient safety and security.
  • Monitor and facilitate Book Studies and Recovery meetings to support patient recovery.
  • Document hourly checks to ensure patient locations are accounted for.
  • Supervise and facilitate patient activities as directed by counselors.
  • Assure patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for assignments.
  • Oversee med line to prevent diversion and de-escalate situations as they arise.
  • Assist patients with mobility issues to and from activities, medication times, and meals.
  • Engage in documentation and assist counselors as assigned.
  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to assist patients in overcoming denial and resistance to treatment.
  • Manage communities, redirect behavior, and document shift reports.
  • Attend staff training and programs as directed.
  • Assist nurses as directed by supervisor.
  • Drive patients to and from appointments and outings as directed.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • High School Diploma; B.S. in Behavioral Sciences preferred.
  • Ability to walk within the facility and on grounds for approximately one mile per eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to continuously sit for approximately three hours per eight-hour shift.
  • CPR certification (training provided on-site).
  • Ability to see and hear constantly.
  • Emotional and physical ability to function under stressful situations.
  • Ability to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one hour.
