Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant I is an unlicensed healthcare professional who performs routine technical services within the medical practice settings under the supervision of the physician and the department's leadership staff. This role requires a strong foundation in medical terminology, computer systems, and software used in functional areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of pediatric patients
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to achieve exceptional patient outcomes
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and technologies

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and carrying equipment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited vocational school with a Medical Assistant diploma
  • Previous work experience or externship in a healthcare setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

Work Environment:

This role requires a medium to high energy level and involves lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs, pushing/pulling, and standing for long periods. The physical activity requirements include bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use, and repetitive motion.
