Job Summary:
The Nursing Attendant will provide direct patient care activities and support functions under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responds appropriately in an emergent situation as per hospital policy.
- Utilizes principles of Infection Control in the delivery of care.
- Accurately performs and records vital signs including blood pressure.
- Monitors and records patient intake and output accurately.
- Provides for patient's personal care needs-hygiene, toileting, feeding and bed making.
- Performs waived testing according to policy and procedure.
- Observes care of patients on suicidal, constant and safety precautions.
- Transport patients as assigned.
- Implements restraints according to policy and procedure.
Requirements:
High School or GED required. BCLS and completed certified Nursing Assistant course.
