Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to work on numerous projects in Santa Barbara and Ventura County.

Responsibilities
  • Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Manage financial aspects, including prompt client invoicing and financial system utilization.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including detailed project planning.
  • Apply performance management techniques and manage change control processes.
  • Coordinate project information flow between the team and client through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Prepare formal project budget progress and other reports.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop proposals for new work or variations for existing projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project management procedures, templates, and products.
  • Ensure awareness of quality, safety, health, and environment issues.
  • Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems.
Qualifications
  • Seven years of experience as a PM on public sector projects of varying type.
  • Ability to travel daily to client locations in Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Excellent organization, written, and verbal skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to advise at a strategic level during project conception.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
  • Experience working as an effective team member within the context of delivering a specific commission.
Education/Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Project Manager within the public sector construction industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • BS degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Experience in using various PMiS software.
  • Skilled in MS Office, Adobe, Bluebeam.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations preferred.
  • Experience managing demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.
