Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant for Home Healthcare

Apollo is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Home Healthcare Team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will provide quality home health visits to our patients in the comfort of their own homes. You will work closely with our team of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to patients in their homes, under the direction of a physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
  • Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
  • Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
  • Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage, as directed by the physical therapist.
  • Observe and report to the physical therapist and Apollo personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Instruct patients in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care, including clinical notes and conference notes.
  • Participate in Apollo Home Care Team Members meetings and Apollo Inservice Education Program.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current certification or license as required by state law.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Ability to travel to different patients' homes.
  • Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
