Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing secure and reliable systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop system requirements specifications based on user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures.
  • Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality systems.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology to ensure the delivery of secure and reliable systems.
  • Develop technical documentation, including system architecture and system design documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives to ensure the delivery of high-quality systems.
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Establish a process to formally and proactively control and manage changes to requirements, consider impacts prior to commitment to change, gain stakeholder buy-in, eliminate ambiguity, ensure traceability to source requirements, and track and settle open actions.
  • Manage and ensure the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, continually updating it as various changes are imposed on the system during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations & maintenance.
  • Develop scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs.
  • Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA, minimum of 10 years with MS/MA, minimum of 7 years with PhD. Five years of relevant SE experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Experience as a SE (systems engineer) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.
  • Experience in leading agile development models.
  • Experience integrating COTS and GOTS products from multiple vendors.
  • Experience developing and deploying storage within clustered or cloud environments.
  • Experience planning and integrating secure compliant solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives.
  • Knowledge and experience with internals of HDFS, HADOOP, and/or HBase/Accumulo BIG TABLE.
