Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Activity Therapist to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As an Activity Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing treatment programs and activities to facilitate patient rehabilitation and improve their mental and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs through observations, medical records, tests, and discussions with healthcare professionals, family members, and patients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and programs that meet patient needs and interests.
  • Conduct sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being, instruct patients in activities and techniques, such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games, and community outings.
  • Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in recreational therapy or other recreation-based field.
  • Previous experience in recreation in a behavioral healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
  • CPR and CPI required, or obtain upon hire.
