Position Overview
ProSidian is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Transportation Engineering to provide essential Program and Project Management Solutions for the Transportation Sector. This role involves supporting the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and delivering engineering expertise to enhance transportation services.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively in program-related meetings, offering innovative solutions and assisting in overcoming challenges.
- Conduct onsite inspections and identify best practices in fleet management.
- Demonstrate initiative and independence in prioritizing and completing assignments accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in developing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance capacity, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Evaluate design alternatives based on principles of Design for Manufacturability.
- Support the development of construction bid plans, roadway design reports, and cost estimates.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Monitor project progress and respond promptly to internal and external requests for information.
- Conduct inspections during construction and rehabilitation phases, coordinating site visit schedules.
- Assist in grants management and provide ongoing engineering support to the FTA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is desirable but not mandatory.
- Project Management Professional (P.M.P.) certification is a plus.
- Experience in reviewing transportation project plans for compliance with regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
