Milestone Technologies Inc. is currently seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Support Specialist to join our team in the Long Beach area.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position that will be based onsite in Long Beach, working 8am - 5pm PST. As a Transportation Operations Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the areas of vessel operations, automation, and software management.
Key Responsibilities:
- General IT Operations with a focus on Vessel: Provide technical support and maintenance for vessel operations systems, including ABB and remote table protocols for STS Cranes.
- Automation Expertise: Develop and implement automation solutions for vessel operations, including ABB OCR system, Navis' N4 & XPS software, and other related systems.
- Software Support and Testing: Provide technical support and testing for Navis' N4 & XPS software, as well as other related software systems.
- Good to Have:
- Support for Automated Guided Vehicles: Provide technical support for TBA (Kone) TEAMS software and other related systems for automated guided vehicles.
- Support for Battery Management and Fence Control Systems: Provide technical support for FMDS, Battery management system, and fence control system for automated guided vehicles.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of operations experience in shipping or transportation: Proven experience in vessel operations, with a strong understanding of maritime business knowledge.
- Technical Skills:
- Software Management: Ability to upgrade software based on instructions provided by software vendors and complete tasks within designated timeframes.
- Help Desk Ticket Management: Experience with managing work using Help Desk Tickets (Jira Service Desk).
- Inventory Management and Logistics: Understanding of inventory management principles and global logistics practices.
- Monitoring and Review: Ability to navigate Splunk Monitoring Dashboard to review possible issues and knowledge of Splunk query is a plus.
- Documentation and Communication: Ability to review and update relevant documentation using Confluence and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Microsoft 365 and Teams: Must have experience with Microsoft 365 (including Teams) and strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
