Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Mechanical Superintendent to join our team at Core Group Resources Careers. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in supervising a team of machinists and mechanics to ensure the successful completion of ship repair and product fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Direct and organize staff and equipment to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Task Prioritization: Prioritize work and tasks as directed by the Production Manager and Superintendent.
  • Time Management: Meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Performance Management: Responsible for assisting management in mentoring and reviewing performance on a regular basis.
  • Scheduling: Develop work and production schedules, project staffing needs.
  • Administrative Tasks: Approve Time Cards, requests for time off.
Requirements
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the marine industry and NAVSEA Standards.
  • Technical Background: Mechanical engineering background and 5 years of ship repair or marine industry experience preferred.
  • Process Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of ship repair processes.
  • Contract Management: Knowledge of managing Federal Contracts.
  • Software Skills: Proficient with MS Office programs.
  • Blueprint Reading: Blueprint and schematic reading/interpretation.
  • Equipment Experience: Experience with equipment alignment, valve & pump repair, hydraulic systems, and shipboard systems preferred.
