Job OverviewSteed Global is seeking a skilled Concrete Carpenter to join our team. As a Concrete Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing, installing, and repairing formwork and other structures for commercial concrete projects.
Key Responsibilities- Formwork Construction: Build and install wooden and metal forms for concrete pours, ensuring they are structurally sound and accurately shaped according to project specifications.
- Concrete Finishing: Perform finishing tasks on concrete surfaces, including smoothing, leveling, and applying sealants as required to ensure high-quality results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and other tradespeople on site to coordinate work activities and timelines effectively.
- Material Handling: Safely handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment related to concrete construction.
- Site Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices on-site, participating in safety meetings and promoting a culture of safety among site personnel.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications, making necessary adjustments and corrections as needed.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any challenges encountered during the construction process, ensuring that work proceeds smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintenance of Tools: Maintain all carpentry tools and equipment in good working order, reporting any issues or repairs needed promptly.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in carpentry or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete carpentry or related construction fields.
- A strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment, including framing hammers, saws, and power tools.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to collaborating positively with others.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
