Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at Southcoast Health System. This is a regular part-time position with a rotation schedule requirement of every fourth weekend.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within radiography and MR as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Patient assessments and correlation of clinical findings with exam/procedure requests
  • Obtaining pertinent information from patients' charts and documenting data in the EHR
  • Educating patients for exams
  • Selecting appropriate imaging equipment and supplies
  • Identifying, preparing, and administering pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure
  • Selecting technical factors/parameters/sequences to produce quality images
  • Properly identifying anatomy and evaluating images for technical quality
  • Applying the principles of MR safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Radiation Therapy, and attainment of post-primary certification from the ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT - OR - a successful completion of an accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and attainment of primary certification from the ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or exempt for medical or personal reasons
Compensation and Benefits
