Position Overview: Land Surveyor in the Albany to Syracuse Region

D.A. Collins Family of Companies, a prominent entity in the construction industry for over 75 years, is seeking a committed professional for the role of Land Surveyor, responsible for the Albany to Syracuse area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with project engineers, superintendents, and foremen on-site
  • Manage data collection for control and as-built records, as well as construction layout to facilitate various construction tasks
  • Conduct calculations for survey control and construction layout
  • Additional field duties may involve structural monitoring and hydrographic data collection
  • Participate in physical activities under challenging field conditions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in land surveying or civil engineering
  • Proficiency with software and tools such as Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, Trimble SiteWorks, Trimble Access, and/or SCS 900
  • Prior field experience with the ability to work autonomously
  • Familiarity with robotic total stations, GPS technology, and drone/LIDAR data collection is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Compensation:

The annual salary for this role is set at $80,000, with actual compensation varying based on experience, certifications, and other relevant factors. The company also provides company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, along with a retirement plan funded by the company.
