Position Overview: Land Surveyor in the Albany to Syracuse Region
D.A. Collins Family of Companies, a prominent entity in the construction industry for over 75 years, is seeking a committed professional for the role of Land Surveyor, responsible for the Albany to Syracuse area. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in an active, outdoor work environment, as it involves fieldwork at various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with project engineers, superintendents, and foremen on-site
- Manage data collection for control and as-built records, as well as construction layout to facilitate various construction tasks
- Conduct calculations for survey control and construction layout
- Additional field duties may involve structural monitoring and hydrographic data collection
- Participate in physical activities under challenging field conditions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in land surveying or civil engineering
- Proficiency with software and tools such as Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, Trimble SiteWorks, Trimble Access, and/or SCS 900
- Prior field experience with the ability to work autonomously
- Familiarity with robotic total stations, GPS technology, and drone/LIDAR data collection is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Willingness to travel as required
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Compensation:
The annual salary for this role is set at $80,000, with actual compensation varying based on experience, certifications, and other relevant factors. The company also provides company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, along with a retirement plan funded by the company.
