Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Establish and maintain the department's vision, set goals, create an environment that supports the vision, and ensure a student-centered culture.
  • Management: Manage the department's structure, execute plans, allocate resources, supervise staff and faculty, prepare budgets, and ensure quality instruction and research.
  • Faculty/Staff Affairs: Oversee faculty and staff recruitment, mentoring, professional development, and ensure adherence to promotion and renewal policies.
  • College Executive Committee: Serve as a member of the College Executive Committee to advance the college's mission and goals.
  • Teaching and Research: Engage in teaching, research, and service activities as a faculty member.
  • Communication: Communicate the department's needs and achievements to various stakeholders, both within and outside the university, and market the department effectively.
  • Special Projects: Participate in and assist with special projects as required.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, such as serving on committees, review boards, and search committees, or supporting special initiatives of the university or college.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of teaching in higher education.
  • Demonstrated Leadership: Demonstrated leadership, administration, and resource development ability.
  • Evidence of Recent Experience: Evidence of recent experience in teaching and/or working in the field of expertise.
Education
  • Doctoral Degree: Doctoral Degree required.
  • Graduate Study: Eighteen (18) academic semester hours of graduate study in the teaching area.
