Position Summary
The primary role of the Pet Care Technician is to support veterinary staff, including assistants and licensed technicians, in delivering exceptional care to our animal patients. This position operates under the guidance of the Clinical Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic care for animals, including feeding, walking, and assisting during treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, which includes tasks such as laundry, sweeping, and disinfecting.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist with additional duties as required to support hospital operations.
- Report directly to the Clinical Coordinator while also receiving guidance from the Hospital Operations Manager and veterinary staff.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines regarding animal handling and hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of veterinary practices and terminology.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Self-motivated and collaborative team player.
- Capacity to follow instructions effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Aptitude for recognizing animal behaviors and learning medical terminology.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: Starting at $15/hr, commensurate with experience.
Schedule: Tuesday to Friday.
