Position Overview: The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Henry Ford Health System is seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist with critical care training to enhance our dedicated and collaborative team. This full-time role emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach, integrating clinical practice with educational responsibilities for residents and fellows.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Completion of a fellowship in Critical Care Anesthesiology is mandatory
- Completion of a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology is mandatory
- Certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) is required
- Eligibility to sit for the ABA Subspecialty Certification in Critical Care Medicine and Cardiac Anesthesiology is essential
- Additional advanced training or experience beyond fellowship is advantageous but not obligatory
- Must be eligible for licensure in Michigan
- Research experience and interests are preferred but not required

Casework and Schedule:
The Heart and Vascular Center at Henry Ford Health is recognized for its excellence by the American Heart Association. Surgical cases include CABG, valve surgeries, aortic procedures, and comprehensive heart failure management, including VAD, heart/lung transplants, and MCS support. Our team also contributes to a leading structural heart program, encompassing TAVR, MitraClip, TMVR, tricuspid valve interventions, and Watchman/Amulet devices.
Our intensivists oversee a proficient Advanced Practice Practitioner team within a 36-bed, closed cardiovascular intensive care unit, addressing a wide range of critical cardiac conditions.
