Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Oncology Provider RN PRN to join our team at Parkland Medical Center. As an Oncology Nurse Specialist RN PRN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in performing nurse procedures for the comfort and well-being of patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of Oncology and Hematology patients, including medical histories and lab and diagnostic requests.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing care plans, ensuring patient safety and protection.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and management to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Manage medical records, ensuring accurate and timely chart entries.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain human care relationships, understanding the impact of illness and hospitalization on patients and families.
  • Manage self and resources effectively, acknowledging limits of experience and capability, and seeking resources and feedback as needed.
  • Incorporate teaching in delivery of care, focusing on health promotion and patient education.
  • Apply knowledge integration skills to provide age-specific care and manage infection control and disposition handling of infectious or hazardous materials.
  • Provide administrative support for MD/NP, including printing schedules, arranging referrals, and cleaning patient rooms.
Requirements
  • Licensure by State of NH as a Registered Nurse.
  • Graduate of an approved RN program.
  • Current AHA or ARC BCLS.
  • Experience in an MD office.
  • Computer literate.
  • Within 90 days of hire, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
  • Preferred: Six months' experience as an RN in Oncology.
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred but will train after hire.
