Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Cayuga Counseling Services Inc is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in an outpatient clinic setting. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric services to clients in a variety of clinical settings. Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric services to clients in outpatient clinic settings, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with therapists, medical directors, and other treatment team members to coordinate client care.
- Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue medications and treatments as needed.
- Conduct timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, and outcome measures.
- Counsel clients during appointments, as necessary.
- Design and participate in the development of individualized treatment plans, incorporating trauma-informed and best practices into treatment interventions.
- Examine or order laboratory or diagnostic tests for clients to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorders.
- Collaborate with guardians, relatives, and significant others on client conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate.
- Prepare and submit assessments, progress notes, reports, and summaries to entities/agencies (funders, insurance companies, etc.) as required.
- Return calls and emails promptly (within 24 hours of receipt or sooner if clinically necessary).
- Make independent decisions based on protocols developed utilizing national guidelines for treatment interventions.
- Maintain customer relations with all agency staff and clients.
- Record all services performed for accurate billing for services provided in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as payor rules and regulations. Submit billing documents in a timely fashion.
- Look for ways to improve and promote quality. Provide teaching and education to clinical staff, if requested.
- Actively participate in all agency and department education, training, and in-services to confirm understanding of new information or changes to established clinical policies and procedures.
- Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
- Current and valid DEA license to prescribe medication.
- Cleared by the Office of Mental Health, Office of Medicaid Inspector General, and the Statewide Central Database, as well as any other agency required clearances.
- Minimum of 2 years of practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- 3 weeks PTO in your first year, 4 weeks in your second year.
- 48 hours of wellness time annually (4 hours accrue per month) that can be used any time you feel you need some time for yourself.
- 96 hours of sick time annually (accruing 8 hours per month).
- Sabbatical: After 5 years of service, you are eligible for 4 weeks paid time off that does not go against your other PTO.
- 10 paid holidays off per year + one floating holiday.
