Job Summary

The Activity Therapist is a key member of the Behavioral Healthcare team at KSB Hospital, responsible for developing and implementing activity therapy programs to promote patient well-being and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement activity therapy programs for patients in the Behavioral Healthcare department
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and caregivers
  • Assist in handling verbally and physically abusive patients, while maintaining emotional maturity and insight
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in activity therapy or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families
  • Emotional maturity and ability to handle challenging patient behaviors
Preferred Qualifications
  • LCPC or LCSW licensure
  • Experience working with psychiatric patients
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and security protocols
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
