Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical RF Engineer II to join our team at Scientific Research Corporation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and computer engineering, with a focus on RF systems design and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of analyses of technical engineering data, including RF systems requirements generation, RF systems hardware development, and RF design and development.
  • Interpret data, verify product documentation, and design, layout, or drawings for adequacy and reliability in one or more of the following areas: RF systems requirements generation, RF systems hardware development, RF design and development, RF systems integration and testing.
  • Develop, document, and recommend solutions or improvements for technical RF engineering problems of moderate scope.
  • Research and prepare draft and/or finished engineering presentations, reports, process studies, or technical information used for such things as program reviews, design reviews, and proposal activities.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain active interfaces and coordination/exchange of technical information among multi-disciplined engineering groups, subcontractors, and/or the customer.
  • May assist in delivering presentations to management and/or the customer.
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain technical databases and supportive engineering.
  • Provide basic theoretical understanding in one or more of the following areas: Radio wave propagation, Digital signal processing, RF and/or digital hardware design and integration, Threat RF systems exploitation, Communications theory, Waveform development and modeling, Electronic Warfare systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Three+ (3+) years of experience working as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements OR three+ (3+) years of experience working as a Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements.
  • Possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience developing, testing, and supporting various digital signal processing and Radio Frequency (RF) applications such as antenna design, RF path analysis, Software Defined Radio (SDR) applications, low noise amplifier, mixers, turner evaluations, receiver, transmitter, digital filtering, analog filtering, and analog and digital signal modifications.
  • Experience programming and configured one of more of the following: Microcontrollers, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), System on a Chip (SoC), Platform on a Module (PoM), Single board computers such as VME, VPX, and PXI.
  • Experience designing and developing one of more of the following: RF Cable Assemblies, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
  • Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Five years' of experience working as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer or Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements.
  • Experience in the one or more of the following toolsets: Modeling Software: MATLAB, SimuLink, MathCAD.
  • Radar Signal and Data Processing Toolsets.
  • Experience in one of more of the following: Threat System Analysis, Model development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking and signal processing, RF signals processing, RF algorithms/logic, System performance assessments of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, RF signal processors and computer algorithms/logic.
  • Experience and knowledge of power systems, to include fuse panels, disconnect switches, ground fault indicators, transformers, power junction boxes, cables, connectors, connector plates, stuffing tubes, and feed-thru connectors.
  • Three (3) years of experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis of RF systems and interoperability.
  • Understanding of the design and development of power-based hardware solutions to solve and optimize different voltage and current requirements.
  • Knowledge of sensor signal processing, signal detection, probability statistics.
  • Knowledge of sensor integration, shooter, and command and control systems.
  • Knowledge of sensor array processing methods, antennas, and propagation.
  • Thorough understanding of NSWC operations.
