Position Overview

ABM Services, a prominent provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a dedicated Floor Care Technician.

The Floor Care Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep and cleanliness of both carpeted and hard surface flooring. Responsibilities include stripping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, refinishing, sealing, and spot cleaning.

Safety is paramount; therefore, the technician must adhere to all safety protocols while performing their duties. Additional responsibilities may involve assisting the Building/Account Lead with various projects, including setups, breakdowns, and transitions.

Compensation:
$18.00 per hour.
This rate reflects the hourly compensation for this role, which may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location.

Work Schedule:
Sunday 6 AM - 2:30 PM; Monday - Thursday 6 PM - 2:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of facilities, performing extensive cleaning tasks such as floor maintenance, carpet shampooing, wall washing, and waste removal.
  • Report any minor or major repair needs to management.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Adhere to all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set by the company and regulatory authorities.
  • Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to undertake assigned tasks.
Essential Duties
  • Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming, following proper procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment to avoid damage.
  • Move furniture and equipment as necessary to ensure thorough cleaning.
  • Remove stains from various surfaces using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or acids as per specifications.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as required.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and apply spot cleaning treatments.
  • Service and maintain restrooms.
  • Periodically clean overhead vents, dust blinds, and polish furniture.
  • Ensure janitorial closets are organized and equipment is well-maintained.
  • Monitor building security by locking doors after hours and checking for safety hazards.
  • Drive vehicles as needed for cleaning tasks.
  • Perform basic repairs as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of customer service or similar work experience.
