Bridge Inspection Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading site inspections of existing bridges to determine conditions and evaluating conformance with contract plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead team to perform site inspections of existing bridges to determine conditions.
  • Lead team to perform site inspections of bridge construction projects to evaluate conformance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Prepare or direct and review the preparation and modification of inspection reports, and load ratings.
  • Coordinate multiple inspections on multiple inspection sites as part of an overall program.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules and designs for bridge rehabilitation or design projects.
  • Receive instructions from Senior Project Managers as to the general results expected or depending on level of experience serve as the Project Manager.
  • Review project inspections and/or design for general compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Be responsible for accuracy of engineering inspections and design and plan preparation, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
  • Show understanding of team management, develop project scope of work, estimate manpower needs, prepare CPM schedules and track project progress.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Perform as a staff advisor and consultant to technical specialty.
  • Available to provide own transportation if required for project.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of NHI Course Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, and are current on NHI Course 130053A Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (if applicable).
  • Successful completion of NHI Course Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges.
