Job Overview:
The Licensed Physical Therapist is tasked with the assessment, consultation, and treatment of patients spanning various age demographics.
This role includes the overall management, oversight, and instruction of both professional and support staff, which may include volunteers and students, within the field of physical therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough evaluations and reassessments of patients based on the required therapy, addressing both pediatric and geriatric populations.
2. Formulate and advance patient care plans aimed at restoring prior levels of function or achieving optimal medical improvement.
3. Maintain precise and comprehensive patient care documentation, including progress reports and daily notes.
4. Supervise and mentor Physical Therapist Assistants and other support personnel.
5. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and education.
Accountability:
Reports directly to the Rehabilitation Department Manager.
Special Demands:
Mental:
Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with staff, physicians, patients, and their families. Must possess the ability for independent decision-making and adaptability to diverse patient care scenarios.
Physical:
Requires manual dexterity for operating therapeutic equipment and delivering hands-on patient care. Must be capable of lifting and assisting patients and managing equipment weighing 20 pounds or more.
Qualifications:
Education:
Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Experience:
Open to new graduates; experienced therapists are also encouraged to apply.
License:
Must hold current Colorado Physical Therapist Licensure.
Certifications:
BLS certification preferred.
Working Environment:
Provides care across multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home health.
Dynamic environment with the potential for extended hours based on patient needs.
