Job Summary

Clear Creek County, Colorado is seeking a highly skilled Crime Scene Investigator to join our team. As a Detective Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating crimes in the County, working closely with other agencies and District Attorney's offices to gather evidence and build cases for prosecution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, including gathering and preserving evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and compiling documentation for case files.
  • Work with the District Attorney's office to prepare cases for trial, including testifying in court and providing expert testimony.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and County departments to share intelligence and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and investigate crimes, including analyzing data and identifying trends.
  • Provide training and guidance to other law enforcement personnel on crime scene investigation and evidence collection techniques.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus Colorado Police Academy Certification and courses in advanced crime scene investigations.
  • At least four years of law enforcement experience, with a strong background in investigations and evidence collection.
  • Proficiency in all skills taught in the Police Academy, including firearms, first aid, and CPR.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and ability to pass psychological, physical, and background examinations.

This position involves working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to traumatic and disturbing situations. You must be able to remain calm and composed under pressure, with excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
