Work Schedule: Full-Time, 12-hour shifts on the second shift | No supervisory duties | Minimal travel required.
Position Summary:
The primary objective of our nursing team is to ensure an outstanding patient experience while delivering professional nursing services across various inpatient and outpatient environments. The Clinical Nurse adheres to the nursing process, which includes patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care provided. Collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team is essential to offer both physical and emotional support to patients and their families, all while following hospital policies and nursing standards.
Essential Qualifications:
Experience: Recent experience in critical care or medical/surgical nursing is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Nurse provides direct and personalized nursing care to patients, applying scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating a compassionate environment by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
- Delivering direct, professional nursing care to patients.
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Adhering to infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Ensuring the safe operation of medical equipment.
- Preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Administering medications accurately using electronic health records.
- Documenting, monitoring, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Providing education to patients regarding their health conditions and promoting wellness.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and reassessments for all age groups.
- Engaging professionally with patients and families, providing reassurance and explanations.
- Developing and updating individualized care plans for each patient.
- Acting as an advocate for patients.
- Complying with established protocols, procedures, and policies.
- Demonstrating knowledge of cardiac monitoring and appropriate interventions.
- Prioritizing nursing care and employing critical thinking skills.
- Understanding proper dosing and administration of critical medications.
- Documenting all nursing care accurately and promptly.
- Communicating appropriately with all hospital staff, visitors, and physicians.
- Exhibiting flexibility and organization in high-pressure situations.
- Maintaining professionalism and respect for all individuals.
- Participating in the orientation and training of new staff, serving as a mentor.
- Engaging in special projects and quality improvement initiatives.
