Survey Vessel Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Vessel Operator to join our team at AKS Engineering & Forestry. As a Survey Vessel Operator, you will be responsible for safely navigating and operating small vessels on Pacific Northwest waterways, collecting and processing hydrographic and geophysical data, and supporting our marine surveying services.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate small vessels (up to 30 feet) on Pacific Northwest waterways and collect hydrographic and geophysical data.
- Process and analyze data using specialized software and equipment.
- Collaborate with project surveyors, engineers, and managers to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of geodesy, survey, and tidal datum.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Experience operating small vessels on Pacific Northwest waterways or similar environments.
- Current Oregon or Washington Boater Education Card or ability to obtain immediately upon employment.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- US Coast Guard Captain License or state-recognized boater's card.
- Topographic, hydrographic, and/or marine geophysical surveying experience.
- Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Geodesy, Engineering, Hydrography, Oceanography, Marine Geology, or related field.
- Experience with cartography, CAD/GIS, photogrammetry, and chart production.
- Experience with survey and engineering-related software.
